about

This is the third song in the Isambard the Mechanical Dragon Saga. In the original song ‘Isambard the Mechanical Dragon’, which featured on the album released by Spriggan Mist in April 2022, Isambard is a steampunk fairground attraction with people coming from miles to see him. It all ends in disaster as Isambard turns on the crowd and turns the fair into an inferno and sends all that came to marvel at the wonderful feat of engineering to their fiery graves. Isambard flies away into the night. The last song on the same album ‘The Lair of Isambard’ places the Dragon alone and in hideaway in a place where no one knows. Resurrection finds Isambard crash landed on a beach near a castle, weak and seemingly powerless. With his fire in his belly just smouldering embers a mysterious sorcerer approaches from the castle and ignites the fire replenishing the light in his green crystal eyes and bringing Isambard back to life.

Recorded at Spriggan Productions studio in Bracknell UK This song is the first time Spriggan Mist have completely collaborated as a whole on a song., Producer Aaron Cilia recorded the band playing Resurrection live using the recording of the rhythm section in the final mix with various overdubs of guitars and vocals giving a more emotional feel to the track as the band feels it’s way from the opening section of sweet picking guitar of Maxine under Neil'[s Wailing lead making the listener empathise with the suffering of an ailing dragon to the rockier body of the song as Isambard comes back to life with a struggle. With a few twists and turns leading to an emotional solo the song ends with a reprise to the original song Isambard the mechanical dragon that featured on the 2022 album and leaving the listener wondering where the adventure goes next for a revitalised Isambard with a new owner. Will you join the ever growing following of the estranged dragon? The cult of Isambard.
