Celebrating 10 years since the release of the Album Ghostly Tales
This new recording features the current line-up giving the song unprecedented power and drive. Rock out this Samhain/ Haloween to the tale of the Kintbury Witch.

Kintbury Witch was originally recorded in 2013 and was the title track of the album and has been a firm favourite amongst the Sprigganista.

The song tells the true story of the loud bell in the church at Kintbury in Berkshire and how a witch was said to have made it fall from the Belfry into the River Kennet. the song goes on to tell the story of how The village folk undid the spell.

A flash of lightning killed the bell
Some say it was a witch
The bell stopped ringing day and night
The local clergy began to pray

Convinced of her powers
Casting her spells, She could
Root people to the spot
Rumour had it she detected a thief
And made him returned his lot

She lived in a hovel called
The three Cornered Hat
Living as a Chimney Sweep
On Tinkers Corner with a Magical Broom
To herself she did keep

The village were proud of
The loud ringing bell
It caused chaos to everyone
Made crockery jump and windows rattle and bump
And baby’s milk turn sour

It rolled in the river the Kennet they say
Sinking into the mud
The witch was said to have caused this deed
The river must have been at flood

With the help of a magician a local man
A hermit with mystical powers
The bell was recovered and put back in place
